Monday, August 06, 2007 Killer weekend! Normally I spend my weekends doing nothing much but getting back the sleep I lost during the weekdays. Which is loserish, but who cares.I think my project has more than 500 lines of code already. I'm not the most efficient coder, so I guess it can still be optimized. The single-player portion of my project has already been completed, which means that I can submit it. But since I've already worked so hard creating something out of really nothing, I guess I'll just have to finish up the multi-player and high score portion by Tuesday hopefully. I hate these programming projects. Sure, during the process of completing the projects I get adept at the language because I can be bothered to Google for answers and re-read documents, but if you ask me to code the same thing a month later, I'd have probably forgotten everything except the basics. Yes, contrary to unfounded beliefs, I have no natural ability at programming, no one has, it's just that I read through several sources of documentation and examples. That's why I really hate people who keep saying that they totally don't know anything when they come to me for help. I start from zero knowledge too, but I spend hours trying to learn. Yes, I am actually not averse to hard work during the more desperate situations. So my concept is that if someone as fscking lazy and fscking dumb as me can do it, so can anyone. Tomorrow I'll have to set up some networking stuff on Linux, and if what I've conceptualised on Friday works, it'll be finished in one practical lesson. Just one more week.. |
