Friday, June 15, 2007 Running in the rain, was a bitter-sweet experience.I've never woken up this early for the past, like twenty Fridays. I wake up early and get ready for an invigorating run, since like, I've heard that you burn three times more fats when you cardio on an empty stomach in the morning. Right, so I think I'll burn thirty times more fats when I am recovering from my pneumonia that I will possibly be stricken by. Right, it was a good day to run a 7-8 kilometres route, with the mind to run it twice. A while into the run, it started to drizzle. "Oh great, it'll be a cooling day to run!" Little did I know that Singapore was going to experience the heaviest rainfall in recent days. I may stand corrected though, because I've never woken before noon this week yet. So yeah, at first you feel like you're not expending any energy running. Slowly your apparel gets more soaked and heavier by the second. Then the relentless hitting of the raindrops on your eyes, you realise you can't see well. And the slippery roads, running on them seemed like courting Death. So you stop running, and start walking. And walking is so slow. So slow I take thirty minutes walking, not including the time spent running and getting drenched. So now I lay myself to sleep, and wait for the onset of pneumonia. Oh, by the way, fugk you rain. |
