Finally the worst is over, at least for now. I hope I can pass!

It's such a great feeling when a heavy burden has been lifted off you. You feel so much lighter and the trees seem greener. Went out and ran 15+ kilometers just now. I guess I must really hate CA...

Dental tomorrow and more slacking before attachment starts. ):

I AM NOT GOING TO FAIL MY GREEK LANGUAGE MODULE EXAMINATION TOMORROW.

I RATHER FSCK ROSIE O'DONNELL THAN RETAKE C-FSCKING-A!!!!!!!!!!!

NOT THAT I HAVE ANYTHING AGAINST HER. IT'S JUST A FIGURE OF SPEECH, LIKE HOW I'D RATHER PICK UP A BAR OF SOAP IN PRISON THAN RETAKE C-FSCKING-A!!!!!!

NOT THAT I'M GAY, BUT C-FSCKING-A IS MORE HOMO THAN ME.

PRAY FOR ME PEOPLE THAT I PASS C-FSCKING-A.

EDIT: RIDI-FSCKING-CULOUS! I HAVE NEVER FELT SO STUPID IN TERMS OF MY ACADEMICS EVER!! SOMEONE JUST SHOOT ME NOW.. GOD...

This damn flu's killing me.

I guess I pretty much gave up on tomorrow's paper without even opening the textbook. Slacked the whole day after the paper.

They should just rename Circuit Analysis to Chicken Ass or something, that's a million times more interesting.

[ jason ] | 7:11 pm |

Anyone noticed a general coldness in the weather recently? It was freezing when we were studying today. Now I'm at home and all stuffed up and feeling sick again. Sigh. I don't know if it is the damn textbook or the air conditioner just now that's making me feel so unwell now.

Intelligence/Consciousness is not always a gift. Being conscious that I'm probably never going to use any of the knowledge I'm gaining now is motivating me not to study. It's no secret that I hate the modules in my second year. Okay, intelligence in this issue is pretty subjective. Some may say that if I was truly intelligent, I would study hard because the pursuit of knowledge is important, no matter how useless or minute it may seem.

Too bad I'm too practical, or naive as some of you may call it. I'll never willingly study hard for something I find no use in. Never.

Come the 31st of January at 11 in the morning, I'll be a really happy man. No more of that fscking Circuit Analysis shst. Who cares about analyzing circuits when digital multi-meters are so common? Not me.

I need to start studying!!#$*)*#$)@*@!$&

Recently, I've been watching this anime called Cooking Master Boy. It's probably not something you guys have watched, it's pretty old. The visuals are not as stunning as those found in the newer animes like say, Fate/Stay Night, but I somehow quite like it. I find the characters' reaction to food pretty amusing. Take a look.

Heheheh. Back to studying I hope!

Hmm.. I guess I'll just post a short entry before I go on a hiatus for the examinations.

Yeah, I guess I'll be attempting to study for my papers for the next two weeks, so I won't be posting much. Anyway, there ain't much happening in my life right now to be posted. ):

Another unproductive day though. Somehow I feel so lethargic these few days. Maybe it's just the terrible lack of sleep I'm getting. I have no choice, the wee hours of the morning are the only time I can prepare something without getting seen.

After the examinations, I would be posted to some company for my attachment. Luckily it's a direct bus there, with only 8 stops. Hopefully I'll be able to adapt well in the 9 weeks I'm posted there, and recoup my Christmas losses ): earn some money.

I guess that's all for now. Everyone, wish me luck for the examinations. I really, really need luck.

I probably don't have any regrets.
Someday, my memories will fade.
And her voice...
Her actions...
I might forget them as well.
But, even so,
I'll always remember that I loved you.
The past was like a dream cut short.
I can't deny that I still miss you.

Today was officially the last day of lessons as a 2nd-year student in SP.

I'm still so damn lethargic. I need to overcome it or it's gonna be even more tough to study for my papers next week!

Think I'm dead though. I was copying the notes in the textbook from the Prince because those blanks in my book are well, blank, and it was like copying Greek.

I don't wanna be so lethargic...

Unfortunately I'm unable to update on that SP post thanks to the weather. Getting caught in the rain everyday through jogging, football or just walking is taking a toll on my body. Yeah, I pretty much asked to be sick, but that's just me, always thinking that I'm omnipotent. ):

I'm taking a break from that SP post, so I'll show you a video of my ass. ):

Nike ball with Nike shoes! This trick literally hits the ceiling...

And that damn iPhone from Apple is so gorgeous. Guess who's got a new dream phone?

That'll be my hand one day... Yeah... One day.

Hmm.. The last three weeks of school starts tomorrow. I guess that means that a new batch of students are coming in.

Since SP has like a damn high number of students enrolling in Engineering, I've decided to write a EEE (Electrical & Electronics Engineering) Student's guide to SP!

Photos will be added when I am able to take them.

Introduction

So you've decided to take up engineering at Singapore Polytechnic, huh?

But do you actually know what you are going to go through in those potential next three years of your life? Yeah, I know you've been to those "Enrollment Guidance" crap in SP, of course they'll tell you that life will be bright and cheery once you join the course. Yes, that may happen, but then again, you may be in for three years of hell.

Opening minds and shaping lives! Sounds sadomasochistic to me!

A little background information on me first, the one who's gonna guide you to this whole new world of life in Singapore Polytechnic. The one who's gonna tell you everything those lecturers won't. I'm currently in my sophomore year in SP, taking a Diploma in Electronics, Computers & Communications, DECC for short. I'm male, I hate the course, I can't be bothered to have a CCA, I live an hour away from the campus.

Yeah, you're going to be reading something from a disgruntled engineering student at SP. I'm a prime example of someone who has made a mistake in taking up engineering, and because I'm a kind soul, I'm here to guide you now, to prevent you from making the same mistakes as I did. I could not understand (or be arsed to try understand) V = IR even at an 'O' Levels standard, and I'm here delving into the complexities of tank circuits and crap today. Sometimes life just throws you irony after irony, doesn't it?

Firstly, read on only if you're totally sure that you want to be an engineer. An engineering course is not something you take because you lack a direction in life (AKA yours truly), if not you're gonna suffer three years. It's not something you take if you want to chase skirts with little effort, although that can be solved.

However, if you are interested in engineering, or if you know you'd sure be able to develop an interest in the subject, then congratulations on choosing Singapore Polytechnic because the rumours that we're the best engineering school in Singapore is probably true.

Read on, because I'm going to teach you how to enjoy life to the fullest as an engineering student in SP.

Aesthetics

Of course, this section is not exactly about how beautiful and nice the school looks. If you really need to know, the EEE school looks, well, EEE-ish with it's metallic designs.

It's that building that fills up the right side of the picture.

By aesthetics, of course I mean the aesthetics of the general population in the school.

If you're looking for chicks in engineering, you're better off trying to figure out how many blades of grass are there in SP. I mean, in like my two almost whole years in SP, I've only seen a few chicks in EEE school. And I don't know if the predominantly male population in EEE will agree with my observation that there are any chicks at all. I don't blame chicks for not coming to EEE, I won't want any of them to risk burning their beautiful and flawless skin with a soldering iron, or electrocute their long and nice hair into a frizzy mess by not grounding their equipment properly.

If you're looking for girls in SP, it's better to go hunting in the CLS (Chemical & Life Sciences) and Business schools. Actually, just any school other than Engineering. Luckily for you new students, the CLS school has shifted to just beside the EEE school. It used to be pretty far away. Business school is still far, far away, up the hill you'd have to climb to get there. There's this joke about EEE and Business school being the Shaolin Monastery and E-mei Mountain respectively, I kid you not, it's pretty true for a joke.

But if you're not the sort who goes around hunting and asking for numbers, the best way to know girls would be to join CCAs. Of course you don't go joining CCAs like Soccer where there'd be no girls, join those CCAs like Dance or something where there'd definitely be hot chicks. Don't worry, you won't be prancing around in a damn tutu if you join dance. I'm sure it's modern dance. Just don't quote me on that.

Why don't I join a CCA since it's a good way to meet girls, you may ask. No, I'm not gay. Let's just say I'm stubbornly in love. (: And lazy.

However, if you're handsome like my classmate Prince, you just need to stand there and I'm sure girls will be attracted to you like emo kids to penknives.

If you're female and asking about hunks in EEE school, well, the school's practically filled with them! *cough*

Uh, but you shouldn't come to EEE for aforementioned reasons above like the risk of having your beautiful skin or hair damaged. That'll make me a very sad boy. Leave me your number and I'll advise you personally. (:

Attire

It's the first day of school and what are you gonna wear? You're thinking that there may be a hot chick or two in your class, and you want to impress them. Uh, actually, you should just go count the number of blades of grass in the school if you are thinking that way. Remember, we don't like females risking their skin and hair taking engineering. If you're female, why not switch courses? Leave your number and I'll give you personal advice. (:

I can't deny I thought that way though. For the first day of school, just dress big. Why? Simple. If you're a sane person, you are gonna hate dressing up for school every day for the rest of the year. EVERY SINGLE DAY. You would get tired of looking into the closet finding what to wear. Trust me.

However, if you tell me that you don't mind dressing up every single damn day for school no matter if like the school day was an hour long, let me tell you this, just go and do your damn Fashion Design or whatever and don't follow your parents' dream of having an engineer son. (:

Alright. There's one important thing you need to get in terms of attire. Havaianas sandals. If you don't know what I'm talking about, look at this picture below:

O Holy One, You are like fire to my arsonist feet.

SP is a really big place. Really, really big. Probably much bigger than your old school unless it's AC$ uh, some rich and big school. You would definitely want to walk around in something that gives you the best comfort. Walking around in Havaianas is like walking on clouds or something, not that I'd try doing that anyway. They are really, really comfortable. Damn, they should give me a free pair or two for endorsing them so much here.

Why not slippers, you may ask. Well, you don't want to be at the risk of getting fined fifty (or was it sixty?) big ones just for "inappropriate attire". Spare me. I'm sure any lecturer would want to wear slippers to school given the chance.

So we have covered footwear for a lazy day. The rest of the attire? Just wear board shorts/bermudas and whatever top you find most conducive to sleep in. Hell, I think beach wear is great to sleep in. What? You say you are not going to sleep? Sure, then Chelsea is going to win the English Premiership. Yes, I dislike them, but that's out of the point here. (:

What if after class you have a date? Uh, I can't help you on dressing up nice. After all, I'm a lazy engineering student. Just go to the School of Design and ask some well-dressed people there.

Leisure

If not for the fact that SP can be like a holiday resort for you if you know where and how to enjoy, I'd probably be one of those emo kids finding a penknife to play with.

Yes, you read right. SP has the potential to be a holiday resort for you. Which other educational institution has a sauna, an arcade, a bowling alley, jamming rooms, graffiti walls, karaoke rooms, pool tables, foosball tables, LAN gaming centres and the other 13470173409217 unmentioned leisure facilities?

These in an institution!?

Yes, a sauna in school. Unfortunately, this perk has strings attached. You would need to be, or have a friend to be, a member of the Singapore Polytechnic Graduates' Guild. It's really cheap for current students, around 10 dollars a month? You would also be able to sign in two guests to go into the sauna and other facilities which you can see here. It's your call whether you want to sign up for it; you really can live without it. And yeah, the arcade and bowling alley's there. You would not need membership to play. *cough*where's my lifetime honorary membership for all these endorsement*cough*

Whew, that's out of the way. Anyway, there are still many other leisure facilities for you to exploit uh, enjoy in SP. You, the new batch of students, are lucky in a sense that the Moberly Block in SP has been converted into an "entertainment centre" (They call it a "student hub", but, whatever.) of sorts. That's where you would find all your karaoke, pool, gaming, jamming and other facilities there. I don't know about the pool and gaming facilities since they are always so packed. You don't need gaming facilities anyway, since all Engineering students are forced uh, I mean required to purchase a laptop. More on that later. As for jamming, I couldn't even play a recorder properly last time, so don't ask me about that.

They really spoil us.

The karaoke room. It is the one of the best secrets in SP. Too bad I don't have a photograph of it now, I'd try my best to get one. It is like a damn big room with sofas and bean bags - those comfortable bean bags you may have seen in Crumpler stores. So the next time your whole class feels really sleepy, book a karaoke room (it's only ten bucks for a slice of Heaven) and sleep there. Just pray that the microphones are distributed correctly. The last time my class was there, they gave the other room the microphone which had the frequency of the receiver in ours. Let's say hearing someone else attempting to sing was really enjoyable.

This section is really long, whew. I'll continue this another day.

To be continued... (:

I feel so old again!

I can roughly remember this feeling at the start of last year.

Why?

Because everyone's starting school and we're not. ):

It still feels so weird.
