Monday, January 31, 2005 Bought a new pair of shoes today! Street soccer shoes.. Pulsado. Looks and feels not bad..Had my Bleep Test today.. Got a score of 10.3. Don't think that's very good though.. I can feel that I did not put in my all because after the test I was feeling perfectly fine while my teammates' legs were like dying. Damn. I must try to get to a score of 12 at least which coincidentally is the minimum score for S-League players. Thursday, January 27, 2005 Yay. I can feel that my stamina is improving. Ran the Dyson Road route in about 12.19 minutes. Last week the seniors were aiming for 12 minutes and broke it, and I think having come pretty close to that mark it's an improvement for me. Well, at least I'm not one of the last few anymore. Haha. Also, that speed is coming back. Just a little bit more conditioning and I will be able to win more J2s in that sprint up that slope. And here's a picture of my jersey! Number 32.. I think they gave the leftover jerseys to us. Oh well. At least I got one. Tuesday, January 25, 2005 Ran 12 rounds today. 12 x 330m = 3960m. About 4 kilometres I guess.Quite a few people in Zhonghua have changed. Andrew's like an "Ah Beng" now with his pointed orange comb, brownish hair and piercings. What a sudden change. Mitchell became like.. Arrogant? He didn't talk to us seniors with a good tone and was talking about not yet trashing us in soccer. Well. Who was the one that did not show up on us the last time we arranged for a match? Come take on us anytime.. Monday, January 24, 2005 Heh. Darren is much better now. I talked much sh*t with him just now during my visit and I could see he was recovering well - His ego was back. Well, all the best to you!Tomorrow's the morning jog and mathematics test too.. Boring. Sunday, January 23, 2005 Yay. My weight is 67.2 kg now.. According to the electronic scale. Just a little bit more off and I'm out of TAF. AND THOSE WHO ARE MOCKING ME CAN'T MOCK ME ANYMORE.. MUAHAHAHA.My stamina must be improving. I ran at least 2.5 times my normal route, courtesy of me trying another route after finishing my normal route and getting lost on the new route. Surprisingly, I wasn't that tired or anything, and the usual pains and aches in my legs never happen nowadays. This is sweet. The taste of success! I just have to be consistent and I'll be damn fit. I hope. Friday, January 21, 2005 Darren met with an accident last night and is in the ICU now. Just visited him and he seems to be in pretty bad shape. His leg's fractured badly and part of his face is swollen badly too. Sigh. My poor buddy. Someone whom I've wrecked havoc with in the class for two years is now lying in the damn hospital bed. Why didn't he look for vehicles when he crossed the road? Damn. Really hope he recovers faster...Wednesday, January 19, 2005 My first appearance for the CJC soccer team! Alright.. Maybe I just came in as a substitute, but I'm still pretty happy. Playing alongside the seniors is great and I learnt a few tactical stuff from them. I'm happy because I only had formal training when I was in Primary 6, and being able to progress so far in just 3 weeks is somewhat of an achievement to me. I really have to thank my coach, Mr Ho, for taking a risk and putting me in the competitive squad even though my fitness was questionable. Also I have to thank Errol, my coach in Salem Fire, for his faith in me and letting me have my first full cap during the friendly match last Saturday, after only one training session with the team previously. I think my aim of breaking into the first team is getting nearer to me, provided that I remain disciplined in my diet and training.I really have to work on my fitness even further. I can feel the effects of my proper diet and jogging. I don't get tired as easily now. Maybe it's because that I have much less pressure now that I'm gelling with the team well. Last week was terrible. I was getting cramps for no apparent reason. Haha. I'm employed as a left-back in both teams I play in, and while Errol is aware of my ability to play in the midfield, I have not demonstrated that ability in the trials for my school last week. I am guessing that Salem Fire already has a regular left midfielder and it won't be good if I just replace him like that. For my school, while Mr Ho recognises that I play in left midfield, I did not perform during the trials. So I really hope to impress during the next few training sessions, with the CJC team and Salem Fire. I really want my place! Tuesday, January 18, 2005 Yay. Feeling the effects of my diet and stamina training. The morning run today was much easier. Furthermore, my tummy is smaller =X. Damn. If I keep going on I'll get my packs soon.. Wahahaha! I'm seriously eating damn little and exercising a lot. Tomorrow's training's for 2 hours, followed by a friendly match. Hope I get a chance to play. Haha. I think it's against some ESPN team..Pretty lucky not to get caught for my hair today. Guess the school's pretty liberal about hairstyles. I mean, I walked past the Discipline Master a couple of times or more without trouble. Or maybe he just didn't spot it. Haha. But other teachers were fine with it. Thankfully there's no Gail Ng periods this week as Friday's a holiday. I'm sure if there's a teacher who will berate me for my hairstyle, it's her. She's the only one who told me to take my earstick off. Sigh. There's what it looks like. Not very obvious from the lighting and lousy camera though. Reckon it'll grow out in a week or so. Not very nice.. I would prefer more patterns but I'm schooling and I don't wanna push my luck =/. Sunday, January 16, 2005 Yay. Singapore won, pretty deservedly. The match was boring near the end, but kudos to the Lions for holding out!My back's screwed up again. This time it's the upper back. Don't know why.. I guess it's due to my sleeping position or my bed. I dread waking up because it's so often my back hurts. This time it hurts bad.. I tried to jog it off but in the end I guess it got worse. Haha. Who ever heard of anyone jogging off an injury.. =/. Dieting still sucks. I am feeling hungry constantly. Oh well. At least I will feel the sense of sastifaction when I get my desired weight. Jogging somehow feels less tedious now. Maybe it means I have lost weight, or my stamina improved. Did some conditioning after my jogging today, sprinted up the slopes around my estate a few times. Can feel that my speed is coming back slowly. Really hope to get, or exceed, my acceleration and speed back in my Secondary 2 years. Still haven't touched my homework. Sigh. The studying part of JC really s*cks. Saturday, January 15, 2005 Dieting s*cks. My first obstacle was the plate of roasted peanuts at the restaurant last night. Normally I could down a few plates. But thankfully, and painfully, I did not touch one f*cking nut last night. The horrors. This morning I had only half a bowl of porridge for breakfast. I don't like porridge very much. :(. I did not even take lunch and went to play a friendly match for Salem Fire. Started the match and I really wonder how I was able to last the whole match without lunch? Took a knock in my knee too. Damn. At least we won 8-3. I took dinner and I saw so many honey-baked chicken wings left over. I did not touch any one of them. On a good day I could have taken around 10? ARGH. This is soooo painful. But I guess any sacrifice's worth it for football. Hope I recover from my cold soon enough to have a long jog tomorrow evening. Friday, January 14, 2005 Yay. Got into the senior squad. That is, if I can get my fitness level. The coach has shortlisted me to be in the team, however he is concerned about my fitness. Damn. I am seriously going to lose some weight. I am shocked that for all these month's I'm lugging this 69kg of crap around. Just imagine.. It's like training with weights constantly. If I can get a few kilogrammes off.. Woah. I bet all those running and sh*t will be nothing. At this point in time, I can't really run for long. I am really shagged after 4 days of consecutive training and running. And there's a friendly match tomorrow.Dieting starts now! Sigh. Thursday, January 13, 2005 I feel so alive! Ran like around 6 km today. Ok.. not at a shot.. but still I guess it's an achievement for me. And for your info I did not pant. HAHA. Ran around 3km during the soccer condition session this morning at 6.45 a.m., followed by around another 3km during P.E. Really nice to run around my school area as it is really damn cooling. I like how CJC takes the fitness levels of their students seriously. I hope I can get out of that damn TAF club ASAP. Hell.Wednesday, January 12, 2005 Yay. I think I got an undeserved place in the squad? Haha. Played like sh*t just now. I didn't warm up well enough and had a cramp in my calf during the start of the selections already. I really felt that this was one of my worse performances.. I couldn't even run because of the damn cramp.. And the coach also berated me for not getting into the game at a point of time in the match. At that moment I was thinking that I would not get into the team. But somehow I still got selected? Woah. I think I must really show that I deserve my place in the team on Friday. Because with that kind of performance I gave today, I really do not deserve my place. The coach still called me talented!? During the de-briefing he was saying how I only got four touches of the ball in the game even though I was talented (!?). Haha. Was my four touches that good? I am seriously disappointed with my performance today. Oh well.On a sadder note, I got into the bloody Trim & Fit programme. Hell! Laugh at me for all you want.. Damn you people. I weigh 69 kg and am 167 cm tall. Sigh. Guess I must start dieting. Having a morning run for soccer tomorrow at 6.45 a.m. too. So I guess I'm going to bed soon so take care everyone! Saturday, January 08, 2005 Training was great today! If not for the damn heavy rain, it would have been much better. The pitch was really water-logged, how the ball would travel was unpredictable. But I guess that did not dampen our spirits and we still trained on. Started off with some basic drills on control followed by passing. After that was a practise match. Played in a wingback position today, a la Arjen Robben. Guess I got back much of my confidence today. I was somehow afraid of not being able to make it into the CJC team. Maybe it was because I had not played football in the field for like 3 weeks. Played pretty ok.. Made a few runs up, screwing up the opponent's defences in the process, a few passes and a few crucial tackles too. Damn the pitch though. A couple of runs were stopped by that "pond" in the middle of the pitch. And some goals were conceded because the ball just bounced into the water and did not follow through to the keeper as I thought it would. Argh.Right now it's for me to wait until Wednesday before I get into the team. Yeah. That's how confident I am. Well.. Actually I would set the target of being the best player in CJC if I intended to stay on, but right now I just want to get into the CCA, and hopefully being one of the best, if not the best, among the J1s. Go Jason!! Friday, January 07, 2005 Woo! I hate to admit it, but CJC rocks for now! The lessons that come eventually will definitely suck.. But.. The school is really havoc and on. I think they're still at the Esplanade playing truth or dare. And their truth or dare is the really wild type, or to put it bluntly, sick. Haha. I saw a guy dancing around topless. I'm sure worse dares will follow. The "Finale Night" was pretty fun. The houses had to put up performances and I had to act gay for one of them. Hell. Almost every house had gays or cross-dressers, and they were damn, damn, damn gay! After the night I went to have dinner with my classmates before heading to the Esplanade for a while for the post-party party. Really tired.. Because after dragon-boating and running around Kallang for the whole of yesterday, I still went to play soccer and jog. Couldn't stay on.. My eyes are really half-closed now. Good night everyone. Training tomorrow. Hope I'm in top condition!! Thursday, January 06, 2005 Dragon Boating was fun! Sadly the sun was hiding, so I couldn't get much of a tan. Awww. But pretty much no kick too... As the weather was a little too fine. Haha. Woah. Hope I don't wake up tomorrow with aches and regret saying that it was "no kick". Haha.In all, the day was pretty much great. Really bonded well with my classmates. I think we trashed the other classes on the "Amazing Race" game. Haha. The other classes were like still travelling when we had finished it long ago. After school, went to my old school to disturb my brother again. Saw him doing his class cheer. It was so funny from a brother's (my) point of view. Haha. Well, he's grown so much. Haha. Jogged home after that, and here I am blogging. Wednesday, January 05, 2005 Finally JC seems much better. The first two days were to me, a total torture. But I guess my class is extremely enthusiastic and sociable and the people are nice that my experience in Catholic JC has taken a drastic change for the better. Hope tomorrow's outdoor activities are great.Went back to my old school just now. Heh. Went to disturb my Secondary One brother who was having an orientation camp there. He in among his classmates and I just went up straight to him and tapped his back. The reaction I got was a really flabbergasted one. Furthermore I just said loudly that he was my brother and that no one should bully him. Damn. What a great brother I am... Or more likely an embarassing one in his eyes =X. Guess all the councillors and some juniors of mine know who he is now. Guess he's gonna be a popular boy there very soon. Haha. Especially with his literature teacher Miss Serene Ow, my former form teacher who tormented me greatly and vice versa, knowing that he is my brother, he's gonna get some "special" treatment I never had. After that I met Daniel, Marcus, Terence & Tok Tong at the Community Centre's street soccer court. Played a match against a team that consisted some of my primary school friends. I think we won... With the help of some Chinese national. He was good.. His basic techniques were there and he wasn't flashy at all. Haha. A far cry from what we usually see in Singapore, footballers (namely me.) imitating their favourite samba stars and forgetting about their basic techniques. Thankfully I'm realising that technical players are seriously a rarity in Singapore football fields (aka not street soccer.) and most of the "better" players are really physical and have a good grounding in their basic techniques. Yeah. I practising everyday on my finishing and the such. But no, I won't let go of my tricks, but instead still try and improve them. Heh. A leopard never changes his spots and I hope with both technical skills and basic techniques, coupled with training to be stronger physically will make me a better footballer. Hope I do well with Salem Fire and the CJC team. Monday, January 03, 2005 Man. Feel like withdrawing now. CJC is too.. Christian for me. No offence to Christians, but it's a matter of personal preference and I just can't take it. Sigh.Furthermore, pretty much dyed my hair back to black for nothing. I see streams of people with coloured hair still. That bloody piece of paper that wrote "No dyed hair allowed" is useless. F*cking regretted colouring my hair black again. What a waste of money. Worse is that if I withdraw I dyed my hair black for no sh*t reason. DAMN. Sunday, January 02, 2005 My hair is black again. Sigh. It feels so weird. And I'm so sad too. Blondes have more fun... Ok my hair was more brown than blonde but you get the idea..Rest In Peace my brown hair.. Will be missing you till next time. 1/12/04 - 2/1/05 Now I'm officially only several hours from the next phase in my life: Pre-university education. Hope it turns out great! Can't wait to meet new people, and playing the social game. And, of course, football with a new set of opponents & team-mates. Heh. Good luck to everyone in the new school/work/etc year! Saturday, January 01, 2005 Woah. So exhausted. Jin Shu & Perrine just left my place. Yea, at almost 2 a.m. They came to use the computer. Haha.Started the day off by waking at around 11 a.m. I took the bus to Catholic Junior College later to check out how long the journey would take. Figured out it was probably around 20 minutes. So, not too bad. Met Terence and John for some pool action at Poolitix later, after which went home to open the door for Jin Shu & Perrine (Sorry for making you all wait >_<). Haha. Yea. Watched 13 Going On 30 just now too. Quite nice. Here's to a better year ahead in 2005! Cheers!!! =) |
